Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We currently ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Live somewhere else? Email customersupport@fidapetus.com and we will let you know if we can help.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on every order to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, with no minimum purchase.
How long will delivery take?
Orders ship within 1–2 business days (excluding holidays). After your order ships, typical transit times are:
- United States: 2–5 business days
- United Kingdom: 3–10 business days
- Canada and Australia: 6–15 business days
Weather or customs can occasionally cause delays. If your order is running late, email us and we will look into it.
How do I track my order?
When your order ships, you will receive an email with the carrier and tracking number. Tracking becomes active within 24 hours. You can also check the status anytime on our Track Your Order page.
For international orders, final delivery is handled by your local postal service, and the same tracking number works on its website.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
Yes, as long as the order has not shipped yet. Email customersupport@fidapetus.com with your order number and the correct address as soon as possible. Once a package has shipped we cannot redirect it, and return or reshipping fees caused by an incorrect address are the customer's responsibility.
Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?
No. Our prices are all-inclusive: the total at checkout covers taxes and fees, and we handle customs clearance, so there are no surprise charges on delivery.
Returns, Exchanges & Warranty
What is your return policy?
You can return or exchange an item within 30 days of purchase if it is unused, in its original packaging, and you have proof of purchase.
- Returns are free when you use the return label we provide.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days after we receive and inspect the item.
Read the full Refund Policy.
How do I start a return or exchange?
- Email customersupport@fidapetus.com with your order number, the reason for the return or exchange, and photos if the item has a problem.
- Our team typically replies within 12 hours and sends you a return label.
- Pack the item securely, attach the label, and drop it off at a USPS, UPS or other carrier location.
Returns are processed within 5–7 business days of arrival, and you will get an email once your refund is complete.
Can I exchange for a different size or color?
Yes. Email us with the replacement size or product you would like. We ship the replacement once your return is received and approved. If the new item costs less, we refund the difference; if it costs more, we charge the difference. Exchanges may include a shipping label fee.
Which items can't be returned?
We cannot accept returns of customized items, or of products damaged by misuse, chewing or biting, sharp objects, water, or accidents. Returned items need to be unused and in their original packaging.
What does the 1-year warranty cover?
If your FIDA product has a manufacturing or material defect within one year of purchase, we will replace it free of charge, or give a full refund if a replacement is not available.
The warranty covers retractable mechanisms, buttons and controls, and other factory-installed parts. It does not cover damage from chewing, bites or sharp objects, misuse, water damage, or normal wear and tear.
To make a claim, email us your order number, a short description and photos of the issue, or visit our After-sales Service page.
I bought FIDA on Amazon or another store. Is it still covered?
Yes. Genuine FIDA products are covered by the 1-year warranty wherever you bought them; just include your proof of purchase. Orders placed on fidapet.com are usually handled fastest.
Choosing the Right Gear
What should I use if my dog pulls on the leash?
For dogs that pull or lunge, we recommend combining two tools:
- AutoBrake Leash: brakes automatically when your dog suddenly bolts, absorbing the shock on your arm and your dog's neck.
- No Pull Harness: the front clip gently turns your dog back toward you when they pull, without pressure on the throat.
The Leadsafe Set includes both. Gear works best alongside positive training; our How to Stop Dog Pulling guides are a good place to start.
How is the AutoBrake Leash different from a regular retractable leash?
A regular retractable leash only stops when you press the brake button, so a sudden lunge can run out the leash or jerk your arm before you can react. The FIDA AutoBrake Leash has the same manual brake and lock, plus a patented seat-belt style mechanism that locks automatically when your dog bursts forward. If your dog keeps pulling, it slows the tape to ease the strain.
Should I use a harness or a collar?
Choose a harness if your dog pulls, is a small or flat-faced breed, or has neck or breathing concerns, because it spreads pressure across the chest. A collar works well for calm walkers and for holding ID tags. Many owners use both: a collar for ID and a harness for walks.
What is the best FIDA leash for walking at night?
The LED Lighted Retractable Leash has a front spotlight, color-changing side lights and reflective webbing, and recharges by USB-C for up to 8 hours of light. For a non-retractable option, the Heavy Duty Dog Leash and the Durable Slip Lead both have reflective stitching.
Do you have gear for cats and very small pets?
Yes. The Comfy Pet Harness & Leash Set is a soft step-in mesh harness for kittens, cats and small dogs, in sizes XXXS to M. For small pets up to 26 lbs, the 16 ft Retractable Leash comes with a poop bag dispenser.
Sizing Guide
What size AutoBrake Leash should I get?
Choose by your dog's weight. Every size has a 16 ft (5 m) tape.
| Size | Dog weight | Handle size |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 11–26 lbs (5–12 kg) | 3.3 in |
| Medium | 26–55 lbs (12–25 kg) | 3.3 in |
| Large | 55–66 lbs (25–30 kg) | 3.6 in |
| X-Large | 66–88 lbs (30–40 kg) | 3.6 in |
A leash that is too large may not trigger the AutoBrake for a lighter dog, and one that is too small may not control a heavier dog.
What size LED Lighted Retractable Leash should I get?
Both sizes have a 16 ft (5 m) tape.
| Size | Dog weight |
|---|---|
| Medium | Up to 55 lbs (25 kg) |
| Large | 55–110 lbs (25–50 kg) |
What size No Pull Harness should I get?
Measure around the neck and the widest part of the chest, then choose the size that fits both.
| Size | Neck | Chest |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 14–18 in | 20–22.5 in |
| Medium | 17–23 in | 22.5–27 in |
| Large | 18–26 in | 27–34 in |
| X-Large | 20–29 in | 31–39 in |
If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size.
What size Padded Dog Collar should I get?
Measure your dog's neck where the collar sits and allow room for two fingers.
| Size | Fits neck | Collar width |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 9.7–13.2 in | 1 in |
| Medium | 12.5–17.5 in | 1 in |
| Large | 17.5–22.7 in | 1 in |
| X-Large | 19.5–23.5 in | 1.5 in |
Which Durable Slip Lead size is right for my dog?
All slip leads are strong nylon rope with a leather stopper and reflective stitching.
| Size | Rope width | Length | Recommended for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 3/8 in | 6 ft | Dogs up to 60 lbs |
| Large | 1/2 in | 4 ft or 6 ft | Dogs up to 150 lbs |
| Large 5-pack | 1/2 in | 6 ft | Shelters, trainers and multi-dog homes |
My dog is between sizes. What should I choose?
For harnesses and collars, choose the larger size and adjust it to a snug fit: you should be able to slide two fingers under the strap. For retractable leashes, choose by your dog's weight, not breed.
Every product page has a size chart, and you can see them all on our Size Chart page.
AutoBrake Leash
How does the AutoBrake work?
It works like a car seat belt. On a normal walk, the leash extends and retracts like any retractable leash. When your dog suddenly bolts, the mechanism senses the burst of speed and locks the tape automatically, stopping the lunge before it reaches full force. If your dog keeps pulling, it slows the tape to ease the strain. Once your dog settles and the tape retracts, the leash goes back to normal.
Is the AutoBrake Leash safe and humane for my dog?
Yes. It uses no pain, shock or electronics. The braking is fully mechanical and designed to soften a sudden stop, which helps protect your dog's neck and your arm and shoulder. The gentle, well-timed feedback pairs well with positive, reward-based training.
Do I need special training to use it?
No. Clip it on like any retractable leash and walk. Many owners notice calmer walks right away. For strong or reactive pullers, pair it with the No Pull Harness and reward-based training, and consider working with a professional trainer.
Are retractable leashes dangerous?
Retractable leashes are not right for every dog or every place, but they are safe when used correctly:
- Lock the leash at a short length near roads, crowds and other dogs.
- Never wrap the tape around your hand or fingers.
- Do not let your dog chew the tape, and stop using a leash if the tape is nicked or frayed.
- Choose the size that matches your dog's weight.
How strong is the tape?
The tape is made of high-strength polyester and will not break under normal walking and pulling. Keep it away from chewing and sharp edges. If you notice a cut or nick in the tape, stop using the leash and contact us about a replacement.
Will my dog get used to it and start pulling again?
We rarely see that. Because the brake engages at the moment of a lunge, many dogs learn that bolting does not pay off, and owners often find pulling becomes less frequent over time. Consistent positive training helps that progress last.
Using & Caring for Your Gear
How do I use the ring and stopper on the Durable Slip Lead?
Pull the rope through the ring to form a loop, slip it over your dog's head, and position it high on the neck just behind the ears. Slide the leather stopper down until the loop is snug but not tight; it keeps the loop from loosening during the walk.
See the step-by-step guide: How to use the FIDA Slip Lead.
How do I charge and use the LED Lighted Leash?
Charge it with the included USB-C cable; a full charge gives up to 8 hours of continuous light. Double-tap the button to turn the front and side lights on or off, and single-tap to switch the side light mode.
How do I clean my FIDA gear?
Hand wash nylon leashes, collars and harnesses in lukewarm water with mild soap, then air dry completely. For retractable and LED leashes, wipe the housing and tape with a damp cloth and let the tape dry fully before retracting it; do not submerge them. Cotton rope toys can be rinsed or hand washed and air dried.
Where can I find dog walking and training tips?
Our How to Stop Dog Pulling guides cover leash training, choosing gear for different breeds, and walking safety. You will find more articles on our Blog.
